Thank you. Joined Jul 2, Messages 30, 6. Joined Nov 7, Messages 3, 0. Rolled back to the first version that supports Ryzen 2, 7A34vAD. Got it to work at for now. I overclocks fine to 4Ghz with 1. No problem there. Last edited: May 24, Joined Oct 22, Messages 7, 3. Even the more expensive boards only support 2 Dimms of higher speed ram. The QVL should show that. Joined May 22, Messages 1, 0. You are talking about the Ryzen platform only, right?GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.
Currently, only Corsair, G. Skill and Kingston have a label to identify the IC. Similarly, if a timing scales with voltage that means you can increase the voltage to run the same timing at a higher frequency. Some older Micron ICs before Rev. Eare known to scale negatively with voltage.
DDR4 OC stuff
That is, they become unstable at the same frequency and timings just by increasing the voltage usually above 1. This is a stress rating only and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions above those indicated in the operational sections of this specification is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect reliability. Intel's IMC is pretty strong, so it shouldn't be the bottleneck when overclocking.
I wouldn't recommend going above 1. Ryzen and 's IMC can be a bit finnicky when overclocking and can't hit as high frequencies as Intel can. Ryzen 's IMC is much better and is more or less on par with Intel. You typically want 1. On Ryzen possibly and as wellabove 1. There are clear differences in how the memory controller behaves on the different CPU specimens. Some of the specimens seem scale with the increased SoC voltage, while the others simply refuse to scale at all or in some cases even illustrate negative scaling.Knowing our numbers class 6 extra questions
All of the tested samples illustrated negative scaling i. Because of this, there are couple rules. For example, if you set the VDDG to 1. Likewise if you have VDDG set to 1.
I don't have the exact figure, but you can assume that the minimum drop-out voltage Vin-Vout is around 40mV. Adjusting the SoC voltage alone, unlike on previous gen.
The default value is fixed 1. Increasing the VDDG helps with the fabric overclocking in certain scenarios, but not always.AMD's recently announced Ryzen 9 X flagship processor with 16 cores is already breaking some world records.
The chip which will be coming to the AM4 socket in September offers HEDT performance on the mainstream consumer platform and has been overclocked to the extreme by overclockers.
This core configuration has never been available on mainstream platforms such as AM4, even the 12 core, 24 thread Ryzen 9 X configuration hasn't been seen on mainstream platforms and AMD is the first to bring such high core counts that used to be HEDT exclusive, down to mainstream users.
The TDP is based on the base frequency numbers so it would actually be higher when the chip boosts or is manually overclocked by users. When it comes to overclocking, we also know that like all other Ryzen CPUs, the Ryzen 9 X will feature a soldered design which should help deliver better thermals than TIM. The chip was running under LN2 and managed to break some world records. The processor was also running alongside a pair of G.
In addition to that, a slide posted by Benchlife confirms that the X and Ryzen series is fine-tuned to support much higher DDR4 frequencies than before. As we saw with X, there were a few features of the Ryzen series processors which were only supported by new motherboards such as Precision Boost Overdrive and XFR 2.
The X platform will be an all PCIe Gen4 solution, which means this would most probably be the first consumer platform to feature support for the new PCIe standard. We have already rounded up all the X motherboards that were announced during Computex including the flagship X boards for all major manufacturers.

This gives us a floor frequency of 3. Now the CPU testing rises up like a staircase. If the CPU is stable, raise the ratio by one, and retest stability. Repeat until stable. When stable, raise the ratio again.
Repeat until the stress tests hit a thermal limit. The last fail at the end was due to temperature - the Ryzen family of processors, due to the manufacturing process, seem to have a distinct hard limit on CPU frequency. This hard limit means that a lot of voltage is required just to move up one on the frequency ratio - we can see here that the jump from 39x to 40x required six more stops on the voltage curve. The performance of the memory overclock is dependent on two things: the capability of the memory controller in the processor, and the capability of the memory itself.
Either one can present a limit to overclocking, and it can be difficult to diagnose which on is a limit without testing with either a different memory kit or a different CPU. Memory manufacturers sell memory faster than this, and the easiest way to 'overclock' the APU is by buying a memory kit that has a high speed.
Users can then install the kit, and use the BIOS to apply the memory profile because high speed kits are not enabled automatically. As long as the memory controller in the processor can handle the memory, all is well.
However these high-speed memory kits are often very expensive. Memory comes with two main parameters: frequency and sub-timings. For daily overclocking, DDR4 is quite reasonable in that most memory kits have roughly the same sub-timings, but differ more in frequency, and it is easier to adjust the frequency.
Sub-timings are complicated, but AnandTech posted a big analysis on this in It is worth a read to get a more detailed look:. For our memory overclocking, we are using G.AMD Ryzen Overclocking Guide: How far will the 2700X go?
Skill's DDR memory kit, with sub-timings. For each of our processors in our stack that would do this out of the box, it would instantly giving a sizeable boost from the rated DDR or from any cheap DDR memory kit.Does overclocking memory modules bring any big change in a PC's performance? And I will also tell you if RAM overclocking is worth it or not. I have answers to all your questions. So, sit back relax and let's get started. At the end of this post, I will tell you the pros.
To increase that speed you need to overclock the ram. There are many advantages of RAM overclocking. You can also face rendering device lost errors if your PC isn't performing well. Also check out how to speed up your monitor's refresh rate. But the answer to this question actually depends on many factors. If you have a good budget then buy ram with more speed. Or else, buy a less rated speed ram with of the memory I have discussed right above.
On the other hand, if you do random heavy tasks on you computer for example: You open a lot of Tabs in your internet browser, or you play hardcore games on your PC etc. Again if you stream games online or you do editings and other heavy tasks on your computer then you can even keep more RAM.
On the other hand if you are unable to buy this much memory then I will recommend you to get more ram with less speed. Ever played minecraft online? It's really fun. But minecraft shows errors if your PC isn't optimised or haven't given the perfect settings.
Pro tip: Step up your shooting skills in FPS games by disabling mouse acceleration and more. If you have overclocked your processor by increasing its base clock, your RAM will also get slightly overclocked. In their latest overclocking guide for X motherboards, Gigabyte has unveiled the potential overclocking sweet-spot for AMD's flagship mainstream processor, the Ryzen 9 X.
Packing tremendous amounts of performance for multi-tasking users, the Ryzen 9 X will be the fastest mainstream chip and the first to offer 16 cores. The overclocking guide posted by Gigabyte provides us an early look at what to expect from AMD's flagship mainstream processor.
While we have previously seen overclock numbers in Cinebenchthey were mostly done with liquid nitrogen cooling. AMD advises an overclocking voltage of 1.
The temperatures at maximum load under Prime 95 reached C hottest junction temperature. The X chipset temperature also hit 68C which shows why the extra fan cooling is needed. When it comes to performance, at stock, the Ryzen 9 X posted a score of points in Cinebench. Do note that the older R15 version was used for evaluating the performance. This is definitely a major boost in performance which even exceeds the performance of AMD's own TR WX processor which with its 24 cores can manage around points at stock.
This shows that with their mainstream Ryzen processors, AMD is ideally positioned against their competitors yet to be released HEDT 10th Gen chips which come out this month. Although 4. Not on all occasions are these results going to assure you the prime95 stability but at least the parts might be able to be stable through Cinebench R We recommend using reliable dual-radiator water cooling or even better, a triple-radiator solution for the best results.
Follow the previous steps and just adjust the settings to the new values. For experimental purposes only, we tried how high our part could pass Cinebench R And Cinebench R15 at MHz.
Gigabyte also managed to make the CPU run at 4. With an additional MHz bump across all cores, the chip managed a score of points which is simply amazing considering it's being done without the use of LN2.Nel negozio online: san antonio spurs hats |

But going from the previous X series, most boards worked fine with Gskil Trident Z kits. So i dont really expect it to be much different this time arround. So Ryzen 2 should also work. I do realize that the kits works, the question is at what frequency and what timings.
What performance should one expect compared to the same kit but only using two DIMMs? Not sure how much luck is involved. It varies, but that is likely what you see. Past that is diminishing returns. I had a similar question about 2 x 16GB compatibility, frequency, timings.
Ryzen 2700 and 4 DIMMs
So its not that strange that there are hurtless on a first platform launch. It should be improved and more matured right now.
Its still one of the best boards out there. This confirms what I was expecting.
Not too surprising this kit uses Hynix chips and Dual ranked. This kit is not on the QVL for the board. Most virulent computer virus
The kit above was not my original choice. I purchased two kits of G. I thought I could get away with it… Well it booted with all four dimms but at I removed two dimms and it booted with the DOCP profile at and was stable for bench marking and extended use. But I have this thing for 32GB.
Overclocking The AMD Ryzen APUs: Guide and Results
All my builds use 32GB. Ran benchmarks but, not stable for extended use. Skill kits I had the Corsair kit already that I was going to use in another build that I need lowprofile if wanting to mount AIO in the roof. I swapped it out and it runs fine as stated above. Even if only at I would really like to use this G. I think I may need to lower the clock speed to or even Setting timings manually.
I have not tried yet and I think I need some help but I will need to post my own SOS thread for assistance later on that topic. The only thing I would gain is I use the kit I intended to use with this build and free up my other kit. Return to Level1Techs.
